Week 8 (16/11/2020)
This week I installed the Blockout plugin by Radical Forge, to help speed up the creation of level prototypes. I am now working on creating a space to test the mechanic in. I also installed SkyBox Volume 2, which provides the space skybox in the picture below:
I also adjusted the shrink/grow mechanic so that it also changes the mass of the object, as before it made little sense that a very small object would have the same mass as a large one.
This also means that heavy objects can be used to block doors if they are too heavy to move:
This was done by multiplying the mass based on the object's scale:
I also noticed a problem. Objects can move through walls when being picked up:
This could be problematic, as players could accidently lose objects in walls. From now, finding a solution to this will be my priority alongside the development of a test level.
